As he does always, American rapper 21 Savage is giving back hugely to the community this festive season.
On Saturday the 21st of December, Savage hosted the sixth edition of his annual Holiday Toy Drive in DeKalb County, Ga alongside his Leading by Example Foundation.
As part of his effort to show love and give to the community this festive season, the Atlanta native helped 1,000 families in need this holiday season by giving out warm meals and 3,000 toys to children at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center in DeKalb County. To spread some holiday cheer, parents left the community center with boxes of gifts and new bikes.
“I’m a grandma of eight and I was trying to figure out how I was going to buy all my grandkids a gift” a recipient of the gifts named Angela Howard said in an interview.
Celebrating 21, congressman Hank Johnson and commissioner Mereda Davis honored him with four proclamations and two community action awards for his humanitarian efforts over the years. Going forward, Dec. 21 will fittingly be known as 21 Savage Day in DeKalb County.
The rapper has been undertaking multiple philanthropic activities, giving back to the community, helping the poor and equipping students. His annual Issa Back to School Drive equips students with all the supplies they need before kicking off the school year.
21 Savage set the tone for 2024 with the release of his American Dream album in January. He recruited a plethora of guests to join him, including Doja Cat, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Mariah the Scientist and more throughout the 15 tracks.
