It was a night to remember for American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift as she was the most awarded artist for this year’s MTV EMAs.

Swift bagged Best Artist Of The Year, Best Video for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, Best Live, and Best US Act. 

She was followed by South African songstress Tyla as she also tripled her wins at the just-ended ceremony. Debuting at the EMAs, Tyla became the first ever African act to win three awards in one night after bagging Best Afrobeats, Best R&B and Best International Act.

Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Calvin Harris, SIA, RAYE, etc also won in their respective categories. Before the winners were announced, the night also featured performances by the West End Girls hitmakers, along with Mendes, Tyla, Benson Boone, LE SSERAFIM, The Warning, RAYE, Peso Pluma and Estevan Plazola, plus Busta Rhymes, who received the Global Icon award.

Taylor Swift and Tyla’s wins were a testament to the era of dominating the music space globally. They set paces and wrote an erasable history with their talents.

While celebrating and recognizing creatives in Manchester on the 10th of November, host Rita Ora paid tribute to her friend and late former One Direction band member Liam Payne, who passed away after falling from his hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“He had the biggest heart and was always the first person to offer help in any way that he could. He brought so much joy to every room he walked into, and he left such a mark on this world,” she said.

“So, let’s just take a moment to remember our friend Liam.” A montage of photos was then shown during the ceremony.
