After breaking the record for most first day streams in Nigeria’s Spotify history with over 1 million streams, the Afrobeats star has returned with a new song.
Dubbed ‘Dance’ and off his ‘Morayo’ album, the record hit streaming platforms on Friday the 15th of November 2024. Hours after its official release, ‘Dance’ peaked at Number 1 on Nigeria’s Apple Music. It has become the fastest song to reach #1 on Apple Music, Nigeria (8 Hours).
Fans and music lovers are already comparing the newly released record with ‘Piece Of My Heart’ featuring American singer and songwriter Brent Faiyaz. Though they believe it will amass huge streams, it might never break the record set by ‘Piece Of My Heart’.
WizKid’s forthcoming album is scheduled to arrive on the 22nd of this month. It is in honor of his late mother who died in London in 2023.
