Grammy-award-winning superstar WizKid has unveiled his sixth full-length studio album ‘Morayo’.
Dropped on Friday the 22nd of November 2024, the album arrived through WizKid’s own record label Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records.
‘Morayo’ which translates from the singer’s native language Yoruba to English as “I see joy’ is dedicated to his late mother who died in London in 2023.
Back in July, the Afrobeats icon tweeted that the project is “Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!”
The 16-track package album houses well-crafted songs including previously released singles ‘Piece Of My Heart’ featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz and ‘Kese. The lead singles all broke the record for most first day streams in Spotify Nigeria history.
Other featured artists on ‘Morayo’ include Jazmine Sullivan, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake, Tiakola and Anais.
Piece of My Heart” reached No. 4 on U.S. Afrobeats Songs and No. 7 on World Digital Song Sales. Asake and Wizkid scored a 2025 Grammy nomination for best African music performance with “MMS.”
