The Palms Mall, Lagos was the place to be on Tuesday, 25th February 2025 as Global Citizen hosted its first-ever Move Afrika concert in the city. The event brought together music lovers, advocates for change, and some of the biggest names in entertainment for an unforgettable evening of rhythm and purpose.

The crowd, a beautiful mix of young and old, friends and strangers, celebrities and everyday citizens, gathered with anticipation for a night that promised not just stellar performances but also a powerful message of activism and unity.
Before Simi took the stage with her soulful songs and enthralled the audience with her unique voice, DJ Consequence established the mood with an exciting set. When John Legend, the highly regarded EGOT winner, came the stage on time—an amazing accomplishment for a Lagos performance—the excitement in the room peaked!
The R&B legend performed immaculate interpretations of his greatest hits, such as “PDA,” “Ordinary People,” “Green Light,” and the everlasting hymn “All of Me,” while wearing Eleven Sixteen and Orange Culture. The intensity of the Lagos crowd combined with his strong voice produced a loving, united, and purposeful mood.
