Victoria Monét topped Ice Spice, Fred Again, Coco Jones, Jelly Roll, Gracie Abrams, Noah Kahan, and the War and Treaty to win the Grammy for Best New Artist this year.

Even though Monét only released her debut full-length album, Jaguar II, in August, she co-wrote several of Ariana Grande’s greatest singles, including “34+35,” “Thank U, Next,” and “7 Rings,” in addition to Chloe x Halle’s “Do It.” 2020 saw the release of her EP, Jaguar.

This year, Monét was nominated for multiple Grammy Awards; Jaguar II took home the prizes for Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The lead song “On My Mama” is vying for Best R&B Song, while “How Does It Make You Feel” received a nomination for Best R&B Performance.
