DJ Nektunez has had a phenomenal run in his music career and he continues to reach higher heights with it. Before being signed on to Akon’s Konvict Kulture, the Ghanaian DJ made a huge entry into the global music space with his production Ameno Amapiano (Remix) with Goya Menor. The casual mix he did to the globally acclaimed song by French new-age musical project Era, blew up, making a debut on the Afrobeats US Billboard charts and other known charts. The Ameno remix remains one of the songs to have caught the attention of celebrities such as Paul Pogba, Shaquille O’Neal, Janet Jackson, and Winnie Harlow. The song also won the Ghanaian DJ a Headie in Nigeria. DJ Nektunez has collaborated and produced music with some top artists namely; Kelvin Boy, Camidoh, Goya Menor, and others. His recent tour with Akon served as one of the memorable highlights of his music career as it opened him up to more audiences.

One will be carried with them in their memory books for years to come. One of DJ Nektunez’s classic moments on tour was in Sweden. He created a remix the same day of the event with Avicii’s beats which are the rhythm of Sweden’s heart to keep the fan’s pulse strong. The crowds went all out as he dropped bangers after bangers.

Nektunez Shares His Thoughts On Different Sounds Being Pushed By African Artists

Award-winning musician, sound engineer, and disc jockey Nektunez has shared his thoughts on the issues of African artists doing their productions, mixing, and mastering.

According to him, he sees African acts exploring different cultures in the world with their sounds.

In an interview on one of Ghana’s television show, Entertainment Review on Metro TV via Zoom from Atlanta, the singer described producers across the continent as creative. According to him, the continent’s creatives are on the right path, pushing their sounds to the global market.

Sharing his thoughts, the ‘Ameno Amapiano’ composer disclosed that to get music lovers across the globe to jam to his sound, he incorporates elements of electronic dance music into his productions.

Using his ‘Ameno Amapiano’ song as a case study, he revealed that he used a vocal sample of an European song released in the 90’s, and mixed it with Afrobeats, Amapiano and elements of dance music to create it.
