Award-winning Afrobeats singer and songwriter Burna Boy has received a Brits Awards plaque for 2 billion UK streams.
The highly-profiled and respectable plaque was handed over to the ‘Last Last’ hitmaker after his just ended sold out show in London. He is the first ever artist in the world to be recognized with a Brits Awards plaque.

Organized and hosted by YouTube Music, the event which came off on Sunday 15th July 2024 at Koko Candem Concert Venue was a 5th anniversary celebration of Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ studio album.
The event was a fun experience and worth-remembering as the singer took center stage and thrilled patrons with a live band music performance. He performed some of his global hit songs including his new single ‘Higher’. The intriguing and exciting moment was when Ghanaian rapper Manifest joined Burna Boy on stage to perform their well-crafted Pan-African infused ‘Another Story’ record.
Released on the 26th of July 2019, the ‘African Giant’ Album is a mixture of Afrobeats, Afrobeat, Pop, dancehall and Hip hop. It featured some global and popular artists including Jeremih, Damian Marley, Jorja Smith, Ghanaian rapper Manifest, Future, Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo, Zlatan Ibeli, etc. Following its artistic and creative value and worth, it won Viewers’ Choice at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards.
