Alan Sparhawk of Low Band Hints at Solo Album

The singer shared details of the forthcoming solo project which is a follow-up to his 2006 solo guitar in a recent New Yorker profile.

Scheduled to be released via Sub Pop, the much-anticipated project will be dropped on the 27th of September 2024.

‘Can U Hear’ had earlier been released as a lead single to the electronic-infused album. The single arrived with a captivating and eye-catching video directed by Rick Alverson.

According to Alan Sparhawk, ‘White Roses, My God’ was inspired by the grieving process of the death of the band’s multifaceted and evergreen drummer and vocalist, late Mimi Parker. The death of his late wife who passed in 2022 also influenced the project.

Co-produced and engineered by Sparhawk and Nat Harvie and mastered by Heba Kadry, the album was recorded in Duluth Minnesota, where Mimi Parker passed at the age of 55.

Alan Sparhawk is scheduled to go on a tour to support his new music. He will return to America and open for Godspeed You! Black Emperor on their tour after playing a few shows including Pitchfork Music Festival in November in the United Kingdom, London.

After his UK shows, he will break for a while and then hit the road in early 2025, beginning with a show in Fargo, ND on the 13th of January.
