The Smashing Pumpkins Announce 13th Studio Album ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’

American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have announced their 13th full-length studio album, ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’, slated for release next month.

The band announced the forthcoming release through a statement shared on their official X platform.

The album’s announcement comes after the trio shared the dates and venues of their South and Latin American tours. They will be playing shows in the American regions for the first time in nearly a decade.

Scheduled to be released on the 2nd of August 2024, ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’ spans 10 well-crafted and solid songs. It follows their 2023 12th album ‘ATUM’.

According to the band in their statement, though they know they have different their best in the much-anticipated project, they are putting it out for listeners to decide on what they have done.

“In the writing of this new album, I became intrigued with the well-worn axiom, ‘you can’t go home again “Which I have found personally to be true in form but thought well, what if we tried anyway? Not so much in looking backwards with sentimentality but rather as a means to move forward; to see if in the balance of success and failure that our ways of making music circa 1990-1996 would still inspire something revelatory.” Veteran singer and guitarist Corgan said about the album in a statement.
