For a decade now, American rapper 21 Savage has been giving back to his community and underprivileged persons through initiatives powered by his Leading By Example Foundation.
Over the weekend, during the 8th edition of his Annual Issa Back To School Drive, Savage partnered with Nonprofit Organization (NGO) Wealthy Habits to introduce a financial literacy workbook dubbed Master Your Money: Financial Success 101 Guide with 21 Savage. Essential back-to-back school supplies and physical copies of the wordbook were given to kids and parents who attended the event.
Short-term goals such as saving up for emergencies and vacations, as well as ways to pay off small debts, are tips included in the book. Long-term goals include tips on planning for retirement, home buying and education.
“SMART” goals, which should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound are also featured in “Master Your Money”. The workbook gives tips on spending wisely, investing early, managing risk, budgeting and helping kids understand how credit works.
This isn’t the first time the Atlanta rapper tried to help with financial literacy as back in 2018, he established the 21 Savage Bank Account program with Get Schooled. Job placements at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and an online education program were made possible by the 2018 program.
Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson and DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson honoured the rapper by declaring Aug. 4 as 21 Savage Day for his efforts and charitable donations in Dekalb County over the years.
During his Grant-a-Wish holiday giveback in 2022, 21 was honored by the State Of Georgia with 21 December being proclaimed as 21 Savage Day. Also in 2023, Fulton County declared the 10th of December as 21 Savage Appreciation Day in honour of the rapper.
