Organizers of the Reading and Leeds Festival have apologized to American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey for cutting her performance short at this year’s edition.
Unexpectedly, Lana Del Rey’s set was cut short after her microphone was turned off while performing on stage on Sunday, August 25th night.
The singer was headlining Reading at Richfield Avenue when fireworks began toward the end of her set as reported by the Hollywood Reporter. Before she finished performing, her sound went off. The last five minutes of her stage time was used by her to watch the fireworks display.
In a short statement via Instagram addressing the technical hitch from the night, the UK festival wrote;
“Due to an error by the Reading production team, we accidentally cut Lana Del Rey’s incredible set short by 5 minutes, we apologise unreservedly to Lana and her fans,”
The festival appearance marks the end of the singer’s tour in support of 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
