Burna Boy, Tems Announced first Headliners for Afronation Portugal 2025

Nigerian Afrobeats superstars Burna Boy and Tems have been announced as the first headliners for Afronation Portugal slated for 2025.

Burna Boy is returning to Afronation after spending a year winning international awards and headlining multiple festivals back to back. Tems is making history as the first female African artist to headline Afronation.

Scheduled to come off from the 9th of July to the 11th of July next year, the Nigerian stars will be heading to Praia da Rocha, in Portimão for the star-studded event. As Afro Nation celebrates its fifth year, The Piano People stage, dedicated to the vibrant amapiano scene, is also set to return in 2025, bringing with them even more dynamic sounds to the beach. Expect more updates on the line-up as the countdown begins.

“Who better to mark the fifth year anniversary at Afro Nation Portugal than the African Giant, who has been a part of the journey every step of the way,” say festival organisers The Malachite Group (TMG).

“Burna Boy was there at the birth of the movement on the beach in 2019. He was there for the moving post-pandemic return of the festival in 2022. He was also there, flying the flag with Afro Nation in Ghana, Miami and Detroit as part of his road to world domination. Burna Boy’s headline show at Afro Nation Portugal will be yet another special moment to remember.”

TMG added “We told you we had major moves planned for our fifth-year anniversary party in Portugal, and we couldn’t be more excited to show you the first two headliners today. 2025 will be a special year for the Afro Nation community, and this is just the start. Don’t miss your chance to join us on the beach again next summer… Together we move!”
