It was a night to remember and a fun experience at this year’s edition of the UK’s Wireless Festival at the Finsbury Park as some of the most exciting Afrobeats artists took the event by storm with their performances.
YBNL act and Nigerian superstar Asake, street pop star Shallipopi and music duo NSG are the notable stars who lit the stage on Day 1 of the festival with their infectious energies and artistry. The artists showcased their artistry and refined stagecraft.
In videos trending online and gaining massive reactions, the British patrons who were at the event were highly entertained.
Asake performed some of his hit songs including ‘Sungba’ remix with ‘Last Last’ hitmaker Burna Boy, ‘Remember’ and his inspiring ‘Lonely At The Top’ record. One of the singer’s highlights on stage was the recreation of Lil Yatchy’s stage walk.
Shallipopi in a charged mood treated the patrons and lit the stage with his songs especially that of his ‘Cast’ global hit ‘Cast’ which features street rapper Odumodou Blvk. NSG also proved their worth as the crowd jammed to their performance in a joyful mood.
Also, Rema brought out Shallipopi and his brother ZerryDl to perform their latest song ‘Benin Boys’, representing the country and the culture.
These artists proudly represented the continent with their electric performances. The performances were a testament to not only the boundless talents on the continent but also their music’s global appeal, influence and reach.
The Afrobeats hitmakers also joined other international artists on the star-studded lineup that included American rappers Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Ice Spice, British rappers J Hus and 21 Savage, and Jamaican Dancehall legend Sean Paul.
South African music star Tyla and Swaziland’s hitmaking DJ Uncle Waffles. will lso be taking the stage at the festival.
