Asake, a Nigerian Afrobeats singer, has revealed in an announcement that he would embark on a global tour dubbed ‘Lungu Boy World Tour’. The global music icon also hinted that he is now preparing to debut a new project for the third year in a row.
Asake has grown into a worldwide musician and one of the genre’s top stars in the past few years. His breakthrough hits, “Omo Ope” and “Sunga,” the latter of which Burna Boy remixed and included on his debut album Mr. Money With The Vibe, marked the beginning of his blossoming career. After a year, Asake made a comeback with his second album, Work of Art, which included the Grammy-nominated song “Amapiano” featuring Olamide.
Two festival dates will kick off Asake’s Lungu Boy World Tour: June 26 at AfroNation in Portugal and July 13 at Wireless Festival in London. After six performances across the nation, the US leg of the tour concludes at Madison Square Garden in New York, following its introduction in Washington, D.C., one month later. Then finally, five gigs in Europe and one in Australia will round up the trip.
