The festival is held annually to promote and project Morocco as a tolerant nation. It also aims to project its city Rabat as a city open to the world for business, partnerships and collaborations.

The festival has gained huge global recognition not only for its diverse live music performances but immense global appeal and influence. It attracts over 2.5 million patrons annually. Maroon Five, American music duo Migos, Wiz Khalifa,  Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, French Montana, Travis Scott, Akon, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Chris Brown, etc are among the world’s top stars to perform at the popular festival.

This year’s edition of Mawazine kick-started on Friday, June 21 and will end on Saturday, 29th June 2024. K Pop star Ateez has become the first-ever act of the Korean genre to make an appearance at the ceremony.
