American rapper and songwriter Cam’ron has disclosed that he turned down the honourable Keys To The City from the mayor of New York City Eric Adams.
Cam’ron made the shocking revelation on the latest episode of his and Mase’s ‘It’s What It’s’ show. Cam asked Mase if he heard about the indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams before casually dropping the interesting news.
“You know what’s crazy? This is word to everything I love,” Cam’ron prefaced. “Last month, they called me to see if I wanted the key to the city. I said, ‘I don’t want to be involved with nothin’.
“ They offered me that sh–. They said, ‘Cam, you want the key?’ I said, ‘That ain’t really up my alley right now, I’m cool with the key to New York City, man.’” He added: “Yo, word to blood. That’s word to everything I love. ‘Yo, Cam, you interested in the key to the city?’ What does that get you, though?”
The music icon continued “I don’t want nothing to do with keys to the city or the n—as givin’ them out, the n—as who had previously had them. I don’t got nothing to do with the key to the city. I don’t got nothing to do with that,” Cam laughed. “I actually got to go to New York this weekend for about 20 minutes.”
