Lynx Entertainment signee DSL shared in a recent interview on TV3’s late afternoon show the importance of artists in activism and calling for action.
During a discussion of the #FreeTheChildren Campaign, which seeks to draw awareness to child labour and child trafficking happening in the country, the reggae artist revealed that, as a mouthpiece of the people, he has always strived to shine light on issues like this through his music.Â
He believes that if the kids are the future, then it is imperative that we address the issue of child labour and see it to it that it’s stopped.Â
Music is a bigger mouthpiece for us, and as musicians, whenever we speak, a lot of people following us listen. Speaking on issues like this with our influence spreads the message, and it will have lots of impact on people—DSL.Â
DSL’s contributions to activism and drawing attention to movements like this through his music are evident, as recent as his latest EP, “Back To The Roots,” featuring the single “Truth.”Â
