In less than a month of its release, American rapper Eminem has achieved his 11th No.1 album on the Billboard 200 chart (dated July 27) as the project debuts on the top of the list.
According to laminate, the new project earned 281,000 equivalent album units in the US in the week ending July 18, making it the largest week for any rap album in 2024.
Achieving the feat, Em ties with Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand and Ye formerly Kanye West for the fifth-most No. 1s on the Billboard 200. The Beatles (a record 19 No. 1s), Jay-Z and Taylor Swift (each with 14) and Drake (13) are ahead of Em, Springsteen and Streisand on the list.
The 281,000 first week units, SEA units of ‘The Death Of Slim Shady’ Coup De’ Grace’ comprise 164,500 (equalling 220.8 million on-demand official streams of the tracks on the streaming edition of the album. TDOSS also debuted at No.1 on Top Streaming Albums). Album sales comprise 114,000 (all from digital downloads; it wasn’t available as a physical album) and TEA units comprise 2,500.
Meanwhile, ‘The Death Of Slim Shady’ Coup De’ Grace’ is Eminem’s 12th full-length studio album, and first, since the release of Music to Be Murdered By and its companion, Music to Be Murdered By – Side B (Deluxe Edition) in 2020.
