The Christmas season arrived early for rapper Glorilla as she has started giving out gifts.

On Wednesday the 18th of December, Glorilla surprised students and faculty members of her alma mater Melrose High School in Memphis with a donation check of $25,000.

Aimed at going toward educational resources such as upgrading the library center; it will be named The Gloria H. Woods Media Center in Glo’s honor, the rapper stormed her alma mater to make the donation official.

“I always wished somebody could do that when I was younger, So the fact that I have the ability to do it now, it warms my heart” Glorilla said in an interview after presenting the big check.

“We want to upgrade our system so students can be more interactive, so they can research and take their learning to the next level”, added Melrose High School Principal Kristopher Davis.

Later in the day, Glo listed her achievements which included the purchasing of a piece of land in her hometown in an Instagram post.

“Bought my first piece of land in my city today along with giving back to my high school I graduated from & they named their media center after me God is good & life is great I’m so thankful,” she wrote.

GloRilla received plenty of love in her comments section, as DJ Paul, Ludacris, Kehlani, Busta Rhymes, Skilla Baby, Big Boogie and more saluted her for giving back to the community this holiday season.
