Rapper Ice Cube is announcing his comeback with a full-length studio album, his first project since 2018’s ‘Everythang’s Corrupt’.
On Monday the 11th of November 2024, the Compton native hinted that his ‘Man Down’ album is scheduled to arrive on Nov 22.
Unveiling the cover art featuring a Black teen walking down the street surrounded by workers and other members of society face down and passed out, the N.W.A Alum wrote;
“The album my fans have been waiting on,” Cube captioned his social media post regarding his 11th album. “MAN DOWN drops on 11/22, pre-save the album now.”
Fans and music lovers were hyped over the announcement of the release date of ‘Man Down’ as it has been long since the rapper dropped a full project.
“Ohh some pissed off Cube and we loving it,” one person wrote. Another chimed in: “Woahhhh let’s get it Cube much love and respect!”
The forthcoming and much-anticipated LP houses 14 well-crafted songs including collaborations from Snoop Dogg, Too Short, E-40, Xzibit, B-Real, Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, October London and more. Previously released singles like “It’s My Ego” and “Ego Maniacs” are also on the project.
Speaking in an interview with Bootleg Kev, Cube said “Being in the game for almost 40 years, I’ve seen waves come and go, Around the Laugh Now, Cry Later record, right before that record I was like, ‘When I pick up an Anita Baker record, I want it to sound like Anita Baker.’”
The Lench Mob frontman continued: “I felt like Ice Cube fans are the same way. When they pick it up, they want it to be authentic, quintessential Ice Cube. That’s what I’ve been worrying about delivering… That’s what I been focused on — doing records that are totally me.”
