Iconic American singer and songwriter Katy Perry has blessed the playlists of her fans and music lovers with her much-anticipated ‘143’ full-length studio album.
Released in September 2024, the album is Katy’s sixth full project, cementing her long-standing and decorated career spanning over a decade. Before the official release, she envisioned a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message.
‘Woman’s World’, ‘Lifetimes’ and ‘I’m His, He Is Mine’ featuring fast-rising singer Doechii had earlier been released as lead singles, creating a buzz around the album. The three lead singles set the tone for the release of the full project.
Following a successful release on the 20th of September, the global pop superstar will celebrate her album by playing a sold-out headline show for over 100,000 fans at Rock in Rio in Brazil – Katy’s first performance at the Rio de Janeiro festival since 2015.
At this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) which was held at UBS Arena outside of New York, the Grammy-award-winning musician returned to the ceremony’s stage, her first appearance since 2017. She gave a spectacular and stellar performance before she was honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
With a cumulative 115 billion streams alongside worldwide sales of over 70 million adjusted albums and 143 million tracks, Katy is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time. She’s one of only five recording artists in RIAA history to gain entry to the elite 100 Million Certified Songs club. With 143, she launches an exciting new era in her record-breaking pop career.
