Award-winning American rapper Kendrick Lamar has stamped his 2024 rap MVP campaign with a new full-length studio album ‘GNX’.
Kendrick’s surprise album hit streaming platforms on Friday, the 22nd of November 2024, without any pre-release warnings. The project arrived at 12 noon on Friday without any pre-release promo.
Fans and music lovers hoped it meant to be the start of a rollout after a ‘GNX’ teaser hit YouTube in the form of a one-minute teaser. But that wasn’t it, as Kenny went back to back and didn’t waste any time in following up with the 12-track GNX album via pgLang.
Following his beef with Canadian rapper Drake, there were rumors on various social media platforms that Kendrick Lamar was working on a new album. Fans couldn’t confirm as the rapper never mentioned it in any interview or post. GNX serves as Lamar’s official follow-up to Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers in 2022, which topped the Billboard 200 with 295,000 total units earned in the first week.
The new LP houses well-crafted and nicely-written songs and features collaborations from top-notch musicians including SZA, Roddy Ricch, etc. He samples the late Tupac’s ‘Made Nig**z on ‘Reincarnated’.
Kendrick Lamar has been picked to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome in 2025. He is the first rapper in history to solo headline the decorated and highly-profiled ceremony.
