American rapper Kid Cudi has finally announced the official release date for his forthcoming ‘Memoir’.
The rapper has been working on his book since 2022.
In a post on his official X platform on Tuesday the 17th of December, Cudi disclosed that the memoir will arrive in shelves on the 5th of August next year.
Pre-orders for the Simon & Schuster release are available now, though the cover is yet to be released.
In a follow-up post to the release date announcement, Cudi expressed his confidence that the book will be life-changing for those who read it.
“So im reading this first draft, tweaking, fixing things, and im half way through and I know this book is gonna change so many peoples lives and inspire,” he said. “My story is so unique and real and raw and truly one of a kind. The shit reads like a fairy tale its crazy.”
In September 2022, the rapper first hinted at his much-anticipated book, disclosing that he will be talking about his troubled boy beginnings in it.
Cudi had earlier admitted he was nervous about lifting the lid on his private life after painfully losing his dad to cancer at the age of 11.
Then, that December, he revealed the name of the book – though it has since slightly changed as noted above.
“My memoir is called CUDI By Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi,” he began. “My hope is to drop it next year around Sept. Goin thru my life and the journey its been so far is bringing me so much peace just talkin about certain things and how they made me feel.
“Moments, people, aging, the fun, the madness, the darkness, such a beautiful ride. I know this book will inspire you to live your life to the fullest every chance you get, reach for your dreams and work hard to bring them to reality, and keep God close.”
Cudi continued: “Because thru all the ups and downs Hes the one thats never left you alone. My hope is that after u read this, you’ll have the confidents to bet on yourself, and strive to live life as a better human on this planet and spread love.”
