Afrobeats and Afropop singer King Promise continues to push Ghana’s music to a wider range of audiences- This time, he has become the first Ghanaian artist to headline a concert in Japan.
As part of his ongoing ‘True To Self’ world tour, Promise, after being welcomed by a mob of music fans, historically sold out Tokyo’s R3/R2 Club Lounge.
The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker stopped in Tokyo after show-stopping displays in New York, USA, Detroit, Brudges, Stockholm, Brescia and Bahrain.
The singer’s sold-out show testifies to his rapidly growing global reach and audience appeal. It also testifies to how the world has become a fan of African music. This is not the first time King Promise is headlining a concert in Asia. He has previously thrilled fans in Bali, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Singapore earlier this year.
In a post-concert statement shared on his official Instagram story, the Legacy Line Entertainment Act requested for the Ghanaian Government to honour him with a diplomatic passport for the feat he attained.
The singer will be making his next stop in Australia on the 6th of October this year for yet another ground-breaking show. The ongoing tour is in honour of his ‘True To Self’ full-length studio album.
Released in 2024, the album features collaborations with top-notch musicians such as Shallipopi, Gabzy, Sarkodie, OliveTheBoy, Fave, etc.
