Haven concluded his star-studded Europe tour and presented a deluxe version of his third studio album ‘True To Self’, Ghanaian Afrobeat and Afropop superstar King Promise has wrapped up the year with a cover story for Deeds Magazine.
Released on Tuesday, the 17th of December, the ‘Terminator’ hitmaker discusses a string of career issues including his chart-topping 2024 LP.
In a conversation with the popular magazine, Promise shows gratitude to his fans and supporters who have offered him nothing but huge support this year.
Reflecting on the year he has released an album and its deluxe and has also gone on a continental tour, the singer and songwriter sounds grateful and appreciative.
Answering a question as to how 2024 has been like, he said ‘”Looking back on this year, my biggest reflection is gratitude. I’m grateful for the support, for sharing my music with the world, and for everyone connected with these songs.”
Speaking about his ‘True To Self’, the Legacy Line Entertainment act disclosed that the making of the project came at the back of COVID-19, where at the time, he had a lot to say because the world had gone through a lot.
According to him, the process of the making of the LP during the pandemic era led to his most open and honest album to date and being extra special compared to his previous works.
King Promise also explained the inspiration behind the LP’s title, disclosing that it reflects his musical roots and personal experiences.
“It was right after COVID when I started making the album; everyone had gone through a lot, including myself. I had a lot to say, so I put it on the music”. he explained.
Released in June 2024, ‘True To Self’ is King Promise’s third album, a follow-up to his 2022 sophomore LP ‘5 Star’. The project which birthed his globe-spanning hit record ‘Terminator’ features rapper Sarkodie, OliveTheboy, Gabzy, Fave, Shallipopi, Fridayy, Lasmid, etc.
