Highlife Classic and hit song ‘Aso’ will be 20 years old in 2025 and its composer, Ghanaian music legend and icon Kwabena Kwabena is gearing up and preparing for its anniversary with featured artist, rapper Kontihene.
Released in 2005, ‘Aso’ was one of the biggest and most popular highlife records that made waves and entertained music lovers at the time. The nicely written and produced song discussed and addressed relationship disappointments and failures.
Kwabena Kwabena also disclosed exclusively that there will be a big celebration for the anniversary in 2025.
According to him, ” It would be exciting to see Kontihene on stage for the 20th celebration of Aso.”
In Legacy Line Entertainment act King Promise’s ‘Favorite Story’ song off his ‘True To Self’ album, he sampled ‘Aso’. The song begins and ends with Aso’s intro and also interpolates some of its lines and verses.
“I was contacted before the sampling of Aso was made. King Promise and I met on the same flight and he told me about it. He later played the song to me and it sounded so good.
