Formula 1’s most stylish driver, Lewis Hamilton, has once again expanded his ventures into the fashion world. The British racing superstar, known for his impeccable style, has been unveiled as Dior’s new brand ambassador and guest designer, following the launch of his own Plus 44 brand.
Lewis Hamilton and Dior’s Artistic Director Kim Jones share a commitment to sustainability and a passion for African culture, which has greatly influenced their latest collaboration. Hamilton, who has extensively explored Africa, aims to bring the continent’s diverse traditions to high fashion through this collection. The pieces, made from 80% recycled materials, feature traditional African prints and motifs.
Moving beyond typical lifestyle and racing apparel, the collection centres around snowboarding, a sport Lewis Hamilton has loved since his young adult years. The garments are designed to be action-ready, blending outdoor culture with the demands of luxury.
The collection includes denim and tweed pants, technical cargo trousers, retro fleece tops, knitted sweatshirts, bouclé overcoats, hoodies, and puffer jackets.
Japanese ski apparel maker Descente, a frequent Dior collaborator, contributed to the technical aspects of the collection. Accessories such as the B44 Blade and Snow sneakers, side bags, rucksacks, knitted hats, ski goggles, sunglasses, helmets, and snowboards will also be featured.
Lewis Hamilton’s debut collection with Dior will be released on October 17th, offering a unique blend of high fashion and sportswear that is set to make waves in both industries.
