Netflix has announced that Mariah Carey will be singing her iconic classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ at its forthcoming NFL Christmas Show scheduled to take place in Houston Texas.
The announcement was made officially on Thursday the 12th of December 2024. Mariah will be kicking off the show with a tapped performance of her hit single.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of her record-breaking album ‘Merry Christmas’ and her aforementioned breakthrough single.
The announcement of Carey’s performance comes after it was previously announced that Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of The 21st Century, Beyonce will be headlining the much-anticipated halftime show during the Ravens/Texans game.
According to an earlier report, the NFL extended Beyonce’s set time from the standard 12 minutes to 20 minutes. Her team has refuted the claim.
Though the halftime show will be the first ever performance of songs from her chart-topping and genre-spanning ‘COWBOY CARTER’ album, the Pop star will be bringing out special guests.
Beyonce had earlier in the initial teaser used the lyrics from ‘AMERICAN REQUIEM’ to make her point. “It’s a lotta chatter in here/ But let me make myself clear/ Can you hear me?” she stated.
With the Super Bowl champions Kansas City going against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 PM ET, and the Baltimore Ravens facing off against the Ravens/ Texans 4 30 PM ET, the streamer will be airing the NFL’s two marquee Christmas games. The games will also show on CBS affiliate channels Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Houston as well as on U.S mobile devices via NFL+.
