Metro Boomin, T.I, Travis Scott, Sexxy Red Celebrate Young Thug’s Release

The global hip-hop community is in a joyous mood as American rapper Young Thug is on his way home after spending two years in jail.

After news of Thug’s release broke out on Thursday, October 31st, rappers T.I, Travis Scott, Metro Boomin, Nicki Minaj etc took to their official social media platforms to welcome him back to the industry. Their colleague has been missed in the game according to their social media posts.

After two years of a long-standing legal battle, the rap icon was released from jail after pleading guilty in his Georgia YSL RICO Case. He has been released on house arrest with multiple bail conditions.

Reacting after Thug’s freedom was released, Travis Scott took to his Instagram Stories to write that his “bruddda otw home” with a series of brown hearts. Similarly, Metro Boomin shared a series of photos of Thug to his Stories.

“Welcome Home lil bruddah, It’s been too long… Time to get back to it!!!” T.I. wrote on Instagram alongside photos of the duo. On X, Sexyy Red wrote, “THEY LET TWIN OUT!!!,” about the duo’s physical resemblance.

“Words can’t express the incredible happiness and relief I feel to learn of Jeffery’s freedom. There will be a time to discuss the criminalization of hip-hop lyrics and the use of bond denial as a weapon against defendants, but in this moment everyone should feel nothing but joy that this amazing artist and even better man can hug his children, parents, siblings, and other loved ones tonight.” Kevin Liles, the CEO of 300 Entertainment, the record label that houses Young Thug’s YSL Records wrote.

Thug changed his plea after Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker asked if he had agreed to a non-negotiated plea, meaning prosecutors and defence could not agree on a sentencing deal and the power to determine punishment turned over to the judge during the dramatic Tuesday hearing.

The rapper had earlier turned down a plea Georgia prosecutors previously offered him. That deal would have allowed him to walk free today for 15 years on probation, which if completed would have allowed him to avoid jail time, but would potentially put him behind bars for 23 years if he violated probation.

Before his sentencing by Judge Paige Whitaker, the rapper took full responsibility for his crimes, apologizing to his family and managers.
