Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” won awards for best pop solo performance and record of the Year at the just ended 2024 Grammy Awards. Mariah Carey presented the first award for best pop solo performance at the 66th Grammy Awards to a very excited Cyrus.
For the record of the year, which was presented by Trevor Noah, the host, and Meryl Streep is the second-ever Grammy win for Cyrus as she beat other nominees like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Boygenius, SZA, Jon Batiste, and Victoria Monét. The song is on her 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation.
“Thank you all so much,” said Cyrus. “This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular. Please don’t think that this is important. Even though it’s very important – we’re very excited to put this on the piano.”
