The MOBO Awards has revealed that renowned comedian Eddie Kadi and Indiyah Polack will host its 2025 ceremony, marking the event’s historic first appearance in Newcastle. The prestigious celebration of Black music and culture is set to take place at the Utilita Arena Newcastle on February 18, 2025.
The initial lineup of performers includes global dancehall sensation Spice, acclaimed UK rap duo Krept and Konan, and versatile artist Bashy, with more performers to be announced.
Eddie Kadi, who has become one of the UK’s dynamic TV personalities, brings his extensive experience to the role. Known for hosting The Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show on BBC Radio 1Xtra and touring with international stars like Wizkid, Lauryn Hill, and Burna Boy.

Kadi has also earned recognition with nominations for ‘Best Breakthrough Award’ at the Royal Television Society and ‘Best Breakthrough Presenter’ at the Edinburgh TV Awards. His recent appearance as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023 has further elevated his profile.
The ceremony will be accessible to viewers worldwide through a live stream on YouTube starting at 8PM GMT. For those unable to watch live, a special broadcast will air on BBC One on February 21, 2025.
This milestone event promises to continue the MOBO Awards’ tradition of celebrating excellence in Black music and culture, now bringing its signature glamour and prestige to the Northeast of England for the first time.
