Sudanese-Canadian poet, singer and film producer, Mustafa The Poet has announced his debut studio album ‘Dunya’.
The singer announced the forthcoming project through a statement on his X page after months of treating music fans with hit singles.
In October 2023, Mustafa surprised listeners with an audio and video of a spirit-filled song dubbed ‘Name Of God’. Using his captivating vocals, he testified to the power in the Almighty’s name.
On the 11th of July 2024, ten months after the release of ‘Name Of God’, the Canadian star again treated his fans with ‘SNL’, the lead single off his forthcoming album.
The project is scheduled to be out on the 27th of September 2024. ‘Dunya’ translates from Arabic to English as the temporal word and its earthly concerns and possessions. Following the title, fans suggest an artist who doubles as a poet, will be reflecting on earthly matters and his personal life.
In a pre-release statement, he said “ There are no words for how this album has held me, there are less words for how the world let me go as I wrote it”
Being an advocate for peace and harmony in war zones such as Sudan and Gaza, Mustafa will also be touching on the conflicts in the countries and the need for them to be addressed.
