Award-winning musician NAS has congratulated Kendrick Lamar on his selection to headline the forthcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans.
Earlier in September, Roc Nation boss and iconic rapper Jay Z picked Kendrick to headline one of the world’s most popular and watched events.
This year’s Super Bowl is scheduled to come off on the 9th of February next year at Caesars Superdome in Louisiana. Lamar has become the first rapper in history to solo headline the ceremony.
Reacting to the announcement of his colleague in a social media post, NAS said he can’t wait to witness the event.
He wrote on his page “Congratulations to my brother @kendricklamar. Can’t wait to watch the party die!!!!”
Meanwhile, the selection of Lamar to headline next year’s ceremony has sparked heated arguments and controversies among hip-hop fans and musicians.
Nicki Minaj, Birdman etc have expressed frustrations and displeasure with Lamar getting picked over Lil Wayne to headline his hometown event. According to Nicki in one of her X posts, Jay snubbed Wayne following his ego and hate for her and Birdman.
