Nigerian musicians light up Glastonbury 2024

By

Over 200,000 people attended the 2024 Glastonbury Music Festival and thanks to the Afrobeat and Afrobeats performed by Nigerian musicians, the festival was a major success.

Meanwhile, the festival draws thousands of visitors worldwide as one of the major music events in the United Kingdom.

Essentially, among the lineup of international stars for the 2024 edition, which took place from June 26 to June 30, 2024, were Nigerian musicians Femi Kuti, Tems, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy.

Ayra Starr gave one of the best performances; her hit tracks, particularly a passionate rendition of her 2022 smash Sability, delighted the crowd. She recently published her sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21.

Grammy and BET award winner Tems brought her smash tunes, including several from her freshly released debut album Born in the Wild, back to the Glastonbury stage following her 2022 performance.

Not too long after selling out the London Stadium for the second time in a historic event, Burna Boy also performed at his best. The fans really demanded Last Last when the Grammy winner performed a selection of his hit songs.

Afrobeat icon Femi Kuti gave a performance that was unforgettable, together with his son Made Kuti. This was prior to performing a cover of their song Arabesque on stage with British band Coldplay. Burna Boy and British rapper Little Simz also made an appearance on stage with Coldplay to debut their unreleased song, We Pray.
