The eagerly awaited sophomore album, Never Gets Late Here, by GRAMMY-nominated and chart-topping Jamaican musician Shenseea, has been released via Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records. Wizkid, Coi Leray, Anitta, Masicka, and Di Genius are just a few of the outstanding guest musicians on the album, which is currently available for streaming. The album offers a vibrant blend of rhythms and genres that support Shenseea’s unique voice.
Shenseea said, “This album was curated with timeless records that appeal to many cultures,” when discussing the making of her new record. Never Gets Late Here, which features fourteen tracks and is executive produced by the chart-topping hip-hop producer London on Da Track, skillfully combines elements of hip hop, R&B, and pop with Shenseea’s distinctive dancehall and deejaying patterns. Shenseea’s powerful vocals are on full display in the album’s opening track, “Face Lift,” which is a haunting ballad. These vocals counterbalance her furious pace on songs like “Hit & Run,” “Tap Out,” and “Na Na.”
The summer-ready hit “Red Flag,” featuring Brazilian megastar Anitta, and the glossy R&B song “Work Me Out,” featuring Wizkid, which ends the album with an irresistible melody, are two of the album’s highlights. Throughout the album, Shenseea’s flexibility and creative prowess are evident, resulting in catchy tunes that create a genuinely distinct body of work.
Shenseea also released the official music video for her latest single, “Flava,” featuring Coi Leray, to coincide with the release of Never Gets Late Here. The song’s colorful and exuberant vibe is captured in the music video, which was filmed in Kingston, Jamaica, during carnival season.
