Spotify has released its inaugural Global Impact List for Ghana, spotlighting the top 30 Ghanaian tracks that have captured the world’s attention over the first half of 2024. This list celebrates the songs that have garnered the most international listens from January 1 to June 30, 2024.
King Promise Tops Hit List
Leading the charge is King Promise, whose multiple entries reflect his immense global influence and versatile musical talent. His track “Paris” takes the top spot, enchanting listeners with its memorable melody and emotive lyrics.
King Promise’s collaborations, including “Favourite Story” with Olivetheboy and Sarkodie, and “Oh My Days” with Haile and Smallgod, further solidify his status as an international music sensation. His work with Shallipopi on “Continental” highlights his skill in merging Ghanaian rhythms with a variety of musical styles.
The list also showcases emerging talents like Olivetheboy and Lasmid, whose tracks “Asylum” and “Puul” respectively, have made significant global impacts, indicating a bright future for these rising stars.
Ghana’s pop star, Black Sherif also made multiple entries with his hits like January 9th, Shut Up, Zero and his latest release, Kilos Milos. Blacko’s feature on Smallgod’s “Fallen Angel” also also made the top 5 on the list.
