Stonebwoy Advocates for ‘#StopGalamsey’ Campaign at Tidal Rave

Ghanaian Afro-dancehall superstar Stonebwoy at this year’s Tidal Rave added his voice to the ongoing calls for illegal mining to be banned in Ghana.

As one of the headliners for the just-ended biggest beach party in West Africa, Stonebwoy sent the patriotic message across on stage.

Having charged the crowd up with his smashing ‘Jejereje’ performance, he seamlessly transitioned his show-stopping display to call for Galamsey activities to be banned in the country with a rendition of conscious songs “Greedy Men” and “Simple Life.”

Stonebwoy highlighted the dangers illegal mining poses on water bodies, lands and the entire Ghanaian citizenry. The Bhim Nation boss addressed the menace with the performance of his ‘Greedy Men’ song.

The singer’s patriotic campaign at this year’s Tidal Rave follows protests against Galamsey by the non-political organization Democracy Hub. For weeks, members of the movement have been protesting peacefully, calling for Galamsey activities to be banned by the Government.

53 protestors including convener for Fix The Country Oliver Barker Vormawor were arrested in September for protesting. After spending over two weeks in police custody, 52 protestors were granted bail, leaving Oliver Barker in detention.
