By

After a long debate amongst music connoisseurs, music lovers and fans in Ghana, Charter House, the organising body of Telecel Ghana Music Awards has crowned Stonebwoy, Artist of the Year. The Reggae- Dancehall artist was the most nominated artiste for the awards show after having had a phenomenal run in the year under review, which saw him publish notable crossover hits, an album, stand-out music videos, headline international and local tours, with sold-out performances across America, Europe, UK, and Ghana, along with his dedication to championing life-changing charity initiatives in deprived communities across the country.

Stonebwoy was picked from a group of six finalists, which included Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Kuami Eugene, Nacee and King Promise.
Stonebwoy’s growth and popularity in the music industry were well accorded during the awards night as he not only won the Artist of the Year but added to his award gallery the Record of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Record of the Year.

The awards night would not have been epic without the artist of the year taking to the stage to show Ghanaians and the world his musical prowess. Stonebwoys performance was iconic and left a never-ending memory in the minds of Ghanaians.

“I have been very consistent, and I have been working hard throughout the years. I could not have done it all alone, but it is because of you people. Big respect for the other artists in the category. Thank you very much.”
