Tems and Tyla have made their way to becoming members of Spotify’s Billions Club. Tems, a Nigerian vocalist, joined the esteemed list for contributing to Future’s “WAIT FOR U,” a song featuring Canadian superstar Drake and American rap artist Future. Pop-piano star Tyla’s 2023 hit song “Water” became her the first African artist to achieve the billion-streaming milestone with a solo performance.
These milestones mark a significant record in their careers, as the two have also achieved great feats, such as winning global awards.
Tyla joined Tems just days after the Nigerian singer became the first African female artist to achieve the milestone, making it even more noteworthy that Africa doubled its representation on Spotify’s elite club this week.
