On June 7, 2024, Tems’ much-awaited debut album, ‘Born in the Wild’, will be available for streaming on various platforms. She also released an 18-song track list in advance of its publication.
With collaborations like “Essence” and the Hot 100 #1 song “Wait For U” with Future and Drake, the Nigerian singer has achieved enormous success. Now, everyone is curious about what she has in her first full-length album.
In addition to her pre-released singles “Love Me JeJe” and “Me & U,” the new project will see J. Cole and Asake feature on “Free Fall” and “Get It Right” respectively. Tems’ song “Not An Angel” released in December will not be on this new project.
“Free Fall” will mark the North Carolina rapper’s second guest verse of 2024, coming off the heels of Cash Cobain’s “Grippy.”
Tems debuted the album’s title tune, “Born In The Wild,” live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon a month ago, along with the poignant single
“Born in the Wild is actually about my journey. It’s about my experience as me and about the experiences I’ve had so far,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe earlier this year. “I was raised in Lagos, and that’s a part of me, but it’s not really about the place. It’s more about the state of being.” “It was a wilderness in the environment I lived in. There’s so many things that happened and so many lessons I learned to come and be this person now. It’s basically coming out of the wilderness. So that’s basically what Born in the Wild is about,”
