English rock band The Smile have canceled their Europe tour scheduled to take place in August 2024.
The announcement was made through a statement after one of their members, Johnny Greenwood was hospitalized.
The composer and multi-instrumentalist faced “serious illness” and was placed in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
” A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that needed emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care,”
Mercifully he is now out of danger and will soon return home.” the band shared
“We have been instructed by the medical team in charge of Jonny’s care to cancel all engagements until he has had time to make a full recovery. To that end, The Smile tour of Europe in August is canceled” the statement further indicated.
The boy band consisting of Thom Yorke, Tom Skinner and Johnny Greenwood released their Sophomore full-length studio album on the 26th of January 2024. Dubbed ‘Wall Of Eyes’ and recorded in Oxford and Abbey Road Studios, London, the project was released via XL Recordings.
