Held on the 10th of August 2024, this year’s Basadi In Music Awards came off at Joburg Theater, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. The event is held annually to celebrate South African women in the entertainment industry.

After dropping her ‘Water’ monster hit song and topping the charts, Tyla made history at this year’s Grammy Awards by winning her debut Grammys. She historically got nominated and won, beating Burna Boy, Davido, and Ayra Starr.
The singer again doubled her wins at this year’s BET Awards by performing alongside Caribbean dancehall superstar Skillibeng and winning International Act and Best New Act.
