VMA Organizers Unveil Performing Artists for September Event

VMA, organizers of the highly profiled MTV Music Video Awards (MVA), have unveiled performing artists for this year’s edition slated for September.

The announcement of the star-studded lineup was done through the official X platform of the Awards scheme. 

The lineup unveiling has excited fans, heightening anticipation for the forthcoming and much-anticipated ceremony.

Scheduled to come off on the 11th of September 2024, this year’s edition of the VMA will be held at the spacious and popular venue UBS Arena outside New York City. American rapper and songwriter Megan Thee Stallion will be the host for the night.

Some of the top-notch performers who will be lighting the stage and entertaining patrons with their stellar performances include Katy Perry, Lisa, Sabrina Carpenter, Glorilla, Rauw Alejandro, Camila Cabello, Anitta, Karol G, Lenny Kravitz, and Hassley. 

Chappell Roan, Shawn Mendes and Benson Boone will be making history in the night with their infectious energies. Legendary rapper Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and Tiago PZK will be joining Anitta for a show-stopping display. LL Cool J will also be returning to the stage to perform some songs from his forthcoming ‘The Force’ full-length studio album scheduled to arrive on the 6th of September.

At this year’s edition, Katy Perry will be honoured with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. Former recipients of the prestigious and decorated award include Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott and Rihanna.

Taylor Swift leads the nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, with 10 nods. Her “Fortnight” collaborator Post Malone is second, with nine nods – eight in tandem with Swift plus one for his hit “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen. They are followed by Ariana Grande, Eminem and Carpenter (six nods each); Megan Thee Stallion and SZA (five each), and LISA, Olivia Rodrigo and Teddy Swims (four each).
